My favourite haircare products this winter

Since it is nearing the end of winter I thought I would share with you the products I have been using in my hair to help keep it looking fresh and hydrated. I cant believe how fast this year (and winter) has gone, I will defiantly be using all of these products well into spring time.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque*

I have had my eye on this brand, particularly this hair masque for so long because I have heard so many great things about it; of course when I was offered to try it out myself I said yes, and I'm so happy I did. I just love the unique packaging of the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque, its so quirky and fun looking. The masque itself is exactly what I expected - it left my hair feeling light but deeply hydrated and healthy looking (better then after visiting the hairdresser). I love that I can get an amazing result that lasts for days without having to visit my hairdresser or empty my savings.

Not Your Mothers Girl Powder Volumizing Hair Powder *

I have quite long, thin hair that does look weighed down and flat unless I have some sort of hair product in it. I had only ever used hairspray to try and give my hair volume, but I got sick of combing the knots out after back combing too much. Not Your Mothers Girl Powder Volumizing Hair Powder looks just like silica, except it is very 'sticky' and works perfectly at plumping up my hair. You just put a 10cent piece size portion in your hand and rub into your roots, really simple and it works instantly. It is not something I would of picked up at the shops but after using it I will defiantly be using this all year round to help with my flatness.

L'oreal Elnet Satin Absolute hold hairspray

I have been searching for the perfect hairspray for years and I think I have found the one. What I want in a hairspray is something that will give my hair a light, even coat but still holds perfectly and doesn't feel sticky. Loreal's Elnet definitely ticks all of those boxes, and it even comes in a travel size so I don't have to haul my big one in my bag.

VO5 Smoothly Does It Shine Spray *

Finally, to give my ends a little pick me up I have been loving VO5's Smoothly does it shine spray.
My hair is rather long so the ends do tend to get dry, and with the heating been on nearly 24 hours a day my hair has been super dehydrated and looking pretty damaged ( I know, I need a haircut). I find that this shine spray really helps them look normal and healthy again.

My Lust List

Now that we are getting closer to my birthday, and of course christmas I thought I would share with you all of the things I dream to have in hope that my boyfriend or family will buy them for me. In saying that I most likely will purchase everything myself because I am impatient. Most of the items on my lust list are beauty products, but some are miscellaneous  items I cant wait to get my hands on.

First up in Benefits They're Real! Push-up liner. I have seen many mixed reviews on this but after playing with it at The Sparkling Soiree bloggers event on the weekend I cant wait to get one for myself!

At The Sparkling Soiree beauty bloggers event I was a volunteer model and had Lolli tint applied to my cheeks to show everyone how to apply it. The lovely lady from Benefit applied some Watt's Up! to my cheeks beforehand and I fell in love instantly. This stuff is amazing!

When Hourglass first released this palette as a limited edition, it sold out so quickly. Now that is permanent it is something that I need in my collection for years to come.

Too faced Sweethearts blush's are just Devine, and I cant wait until this baby is mine. A girl can dream can't she?

Naked 3, enough said. Look at this palette, it is pure beauty. Something I long for, to have this in my collection.

I am in desperate need of a new camera for blogging, since mine is not good enough. Nikon make amazing cameras, and the D3200 would be great for me because I am only learning with photography.

This gorgeous black bag from Kate Hill is calling my name!

Lastly, When I met the beautiful Dani from Kaboomcosmetics she had a Pauls Boutique bag that I really, really loved. After searching online I have found my pick from Pauls Boutique, The Large Maisy bag in black.

Review | Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub

Firstly I would like to apologise for being absent from The Beauty Box lately, my life has been really, really hectic. The end of June is always a busy month for me with over half of my families birthdays in one week, it gives me no time to myself so blogging hasn't been an option. I have also had a pretty crappy cold for the last two weeks, on top of being moved around for work which has stressed me out.  Secondly the weather in Melbourne has been pretty drab, so this means limited natural sunlight; and me working full time means getting home after 7:30, so unfortunately I haven't been able to take any photos for my blog. Enough of the sob story, and onto my review!

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to try a couple of Dirty Works products, and buff your stuff body scrub was definitely my favourite.

When I first laid eyes on Dirty Works products at
Coles, they immediately reminded me of Soap & Glorys packaging because its so quirky. Now I haven't tried any of Soap & Glorys products so I cant tell you if they are similar or not, but Dirty Works Buff your stuff body scrub is divine. Like all body scrubs, they are best used in the bath or shower, on wet skin. I use Dirty Works Buff your stuff in circular motions on my legs to help with the dry skin that has popped up in winter.

Buff Your Stuff is made perfectly, so that when you open the lid it doesn't spill all over you. Buff Your Stuff body scrub is made up of large granules of almond, shea butter and Vitamin E oil which I felt helped my skin feel smooth and silky after washing the product off. I usually come out in big rash's when I use products that contain shea butter, but for some strange reason I have never broken out in hives when using Dirty Works Buff your stuff body scrub.

Overall I love using Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body scrub, especially because it is great removing the dead skin from my legs, and leaving them silky smooth afterwards.

Have you tried any Dirty Works products? if so whats your favourite?

My favourite winter lips

I know winter is close to halfway through here in Australia but I wanted to share with you my favourite lipsticks for this winter.
Now I am Defiantly a collector of lipsticks, particularly pink ones. This winter I have decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try some reds and Pinky-purple tones.

My favourite lipstick for a night out in winter is Models prefer Runway Red. This lipstick is a deeper red which is very popular at the moment. I have been loving the formula of these Models Prefer lipsticks and would defiantly recommend trying them if you haven't.

When I am at work I want to wear something that stays on my lips for most of the day. Rimmel Kate lipstick in 22 and Lush liquid lipstick in Passionate are my favourite picks for long lasting lippys!

I am not really a gloss fan but Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Fuchsia Finery teamed with Covergirls Jumbo Gloss Balm in Berry Twist has been my go to for the weekend as they are both really easy to apply and need little maintenance.

For days I am at home or shopping I have opted for something easy, and moistuzing. Max Factors Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in Passionate Red is an easy choice as I have been loving reds this month.

Lipliners are a hit and miss for me but for the days at work when I don't have time to touch up my lipstick, they do come in handy. This essence Lipliner in Nude is a great neutral that I can use with any of my lipsticks.

Lastly I have been using Lush's Santa's Lip Scrub twice a day to keep the flaky lips away. Lush makes amazing lip scrubs, that taste so good you want to eat them.

My favourite hand creams

Hand creams are one of the hardest things to find for me. I have found that there are a lot of hand creams that have your hands feeling oily after you have used them which is not something I like.

Working in retail takes a toll on my hands, so finding a good hand cream that leaves my hands feeling soft and moisturised but not slippery was on the top of my list. I was lucky enough to find two hand creams, one for day use, and a deeper moisturising one for night time.

Bioderma Atoderm Mains Repair Hand Cream for dry hands

Bioderma has only been available in Australia for a short while now and when I saw this hand cream the first time I was busting to try it out. This is my day hand cream that I carry around in my handbag and take to work. Bioderma Atoderm Mains Repair Hand Cream is very light in texture and has a slight gel look and feel to it. This hand cream is exactly what I had been looking for; it moisturises your hands without leaving any oil or powder residue after soaking into your skin. Unlike a lot of other hand creams I have tried, Bioderma Atoderm Mains Repair Hand Cream keeps your hands moisturised for hours, so you don't have to keep re-applying every half an hour. At $14.95 this hand cream is definitely a holy-grail product as you only need a tiny amount and the tube lasts 3 months- so $5 a month, how could you go wrong?

Kosmea Rose Hand Cream *

After using Bioderma's hand cream for so long I didn't think I needed a hand cream for night use, but after using Kosmea Rose Hand Cream I was sold.
I am not usually fond of rose scents, or rosehip for that matter but it is very subtile in this hand cream, and I have found it quite soothing. Kosmea Rose Hand Cream has a thicker consistency because it has both Rosehip and Jojoba oils in it which help hydrate and replenish the skin and therefore is the perfect deep moisturising hand cream for me. This hand cream moisturises your hands without leaving that oil or powder residue - which is hard to find these days as most hand creams are very oily. I love applying a 10cent piece amount and work it into my cuticles,  then rub into my hands and up my arms just before bed. My boyfriend has commented on how soft my hands are now, and I defiantly think it is because of Kosmea Rose Hand Cream.
You can purchase Kosmea Rose Hand Cream here for $19.95

Have your tried any of these hands creams?
