Lately I have realised I have a lot of makeup and skincare, so I have decided to start 'shopping my stash'. Every week I will choose 3 items, weather it will be makeup or skincare related and use them for the next two weeks to help we decided if they are a trash or a treasure.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation in Fair, Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer in no. 6, and Almay Intense I-color in 401
The first product I chose for this edition of shop my stash is the Make Up For Ever full cover waterproof concealer. I purchased this concealer from Salon Melbourne last year and never really got into it because I loved my other concealers too much. This concealer is really good for covering under eye bags, but not so much spots and scars. I found the consistency really drying, which is a given because it is waterproof formulated, but it seemed to dry out my pimples and cause them too flake more. Overall I don't think I would purchase this product again when considering the price and how it works. This product is a Treasure for me, but only because I don't want to waste it.
Next up is a Almay eyeshadow that was given to me as a gift but shoved to the back of my eyeshadow draw. I absolutely love the colours in this eyeshadow palette, but the let down is the pigmentation. The bronze colour is creamy, but it hard to blend out properly. The other two shades are not very pigmented which is a let down because they would be so beautiful if they had better pigmentation. I have chosen to trash this eyeshadow as I cannot find a way to make it work.
The final product of this instalment is Tartes Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation. I received this from the lovely Marie in our swap last year. I was really looking forward to it because I had heard so many people raving about it. The first couple of times I tried this foundation I could not get it too build coverage without getting most of it stuck in my brush, so to the back of the draw it went. I decided to try it out again because I purchased a new brush and thought it might work better with it. I believe the brush did help a little bit in the application and building of coverage, but I also think this foundation is defiantly not full coverage. It is a beautiful foundation and I do enjoy wearing it on days I don't feel like wearing a full face of makeup. The Amazonian clay 12-hour foundation is a treasure to me, because although it may not be flu coverage in my opinion, it is true too its word and stays put for close too 12 hours.
What are your trash and treasure items?
Ohhh this is interesting! I was surprised to hear you trash the Almay eyeshadow! I've always heard good things! Now I know not to try ;)
